SUMMER CONCERTS RESUME JUNE 21 AT THE HENDERSONVILLE ARTS COUNCIL

The Hendersonville Arts Council announces the first concert this summer will be on Sunday, June 21st, from 6 - 8 p.m. on the grounds of historic Monthaven, 1154 West Main Street in Hendersonville. The concert will feature The Tachoir Group with international touring artist, Jerry Tachoir leading. The concert is free and everyone is invited to bring a picnic basket and blanket/chair and enjoy the evening of jazz.
Jerry Tachoir is a resident of Hendersonville and graduated from
Berklee College of Music in Boston. performs as artist and clinician for the Ludwig/Musser Company. He has presented improvisation and advanced harmony workshops throughout the world such as the Conservatory of Music in Paris, France and the Conservatory of Music in Puerto Rico as well as college and universities throughout the United States and Canada. His playing of the marimba carries the listener into its melodic rhythms. He has performed at most of the major jazz festivals and concert halls throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Marlene Tachoir on keyboard is the primary composer for their music. She is past two-time winner of the international jazz composition contest in Monaco. In 2000 she won the Global Music Network Award for best jazz composer. Her album Tales of Emotions is very expressive using her unique style. She is also a graduate of Berklee College.
